Austin's 2nd birthday

Sunday, August 18, 2013

I feel it is important to reflect on milestones in your and your kids' lives. One of my kids had a 2nd birthday and it is amazing to see how he has changed over that time. Of course kids change quickly especially when they are much younger. He helped me to realize the motivation that I had to make a change in my life to be able to see all his milestones or as many as I can. I am now a lot more active as a result of this motivation and have lost approximately 45 lbs at the time of this writing from my peak weight.

At the same time that number is also my age. So I'm not a young chicken anymore. I am now in the normal weight range BMI less than 25 and I am working to get in the middle of the normal range.

I have included pictures of Austin at 1 day, 1 year, and 2 years old.

Austin 1 day old.

Austin 1 year old.

Austin 2 years old.

My wife made the Elmo hat for him which is his favorite Sesame Street character.

    He is so cute!

We're at about 18 months for my younger daughter and we're planning my older daughter's 4th birthday---and it's still so hard some days to realize it's already been so long!

My children are definitely a big part of my motivation, too. I can understand how wanting to be around is a source of motivation. Getting more fit seems to make it easier to do things, too!
