We are not amused

I have no idea how it happened, but somehow my DVR managed to swallow ALL of my saved recordings! All those classic Chopped and Throwdown episodes, Alex Guarnaschelli's Next Iron Chef win and her first Iron Chef America battle -- all gone. AARRGGHH!! Luckily they recycle reruns, so I'm searching them out and starting to rebuild the collection.

I'm staying in and letting the painters finish up, if they haven't already, as well as letting the paint dry. Well, it could be worse. When they repaved the parking lot I had to stay away from home overnight. Gotta love home repairs -- NOT.

I'm STILL working on my afghan. The border panels are a pattern that's hard on my hands so I can only work on it a little at a time. Also sewing the bordered edges to the unbordered edges is a long, tedious process because the border contracts the sides quite a bit so I have to ease the unbordered edges to fit. With any luck, it might be finished by Christmas.

Time for more coffee and to do the breakfast dishes. Later.

Your "DVR" story GREATLY DISTURBS ME; bc I am a NOTORIOUS "DVRer"! I have over 150 shows recorded! Lord KNOWS WHEN I will ever get around to WATCHING all of them! LOL
I DID notice on my DVR, that after a certain time period, the shows WILL BE deleted, without my consent. Perhaps A T &T figures if I haven't watched them by NOW, I NEVER WILL! They MAY be right, too!

Did you lose EVERY recording? Is your DVR from a CATV co. or did YOU buy it?
I HOPE they will MAGICALLY REAPPEAR or you can re record the shows you want.

Sorry about losing all your recordings - losing all that is definitely maddening! I'd love to see a picture of the afghan when it's done. It'll get there - don't lose patience with it.

I had the DVR taken OUT and went to an EASY OPTION cable with JUST the remote,,,for I DID NOT understand all of this and that. the Grands did, and they LOVED It, but I am NOT paying 150.00 for the KIDS !! NO WAY !! LOL !!! Now the bill is only 35 !! PHEW !!!! What a difference,,,,,and for when I can't find something on TV (I am recovering from surg) I just simply get onto youtube and play there,,or amazon where I have my music selection kept and SING MY HEART OUT ! WOOHOOO !!

Hope it all comes together for you !

I have a love/hate relationship with just about anything and everything electronic. They're wonderful. They're marvelous. They're frustrating!

Good luck. You'll get them back but it's stressful.

The afghan project sounds like a good way to keep your hands busy which I find helps keep me from eating mindlessly.

    DVRs--Bah! Humbug!
Mine for some reason now has all the repeat episodes of series that I record showing up on my future recordings list. This is interesting when I have it set up to only record new episodes. It's obnoxious to scroll through 5-6 different screens to see the one or two things I really want to record. I talked to the cable company yesterday, and they said they could get me a new DVR, but then I would lose everything I've got. So I'll put up with it for now I guess.

I have enjoyed the "Chopped" episodes that I have seen on the Internet. I do hope that you are successful in finding the programs that you want to record.

The afghan sounds lovely. I hope that when you have it finished you will post a photo of it for us to see.

God bless your day!

Good luck finding all the shows. We have had so much trouble with the DVR eating our recording or losing the list it's supposed to tape that I finally made a spreadsheet with date, time and show name. How sad is that in this era of technology!

That's technology for you. It's a love/hate relationship. I'm sure with reruns you'll be able to get those shows back.
