Still on track limiting junk food

Today is 3 weeks no junk food ! I still donít miss it and that feels great !
Friends were here yesterday. Instead of bringing an ice cream cake she bought cheese cake. It was a precut cake and the pieces were super small so we each had two. I could have said no thanks but decided to have it to see how it tastes to eat sweets after 3 weeks with none. I can honestly say I did not enjoy it. It was OK, but I wouldnít have missed anything had I not had any. It feels funny to say that but itís true.
Even though I had a sweet yesterday I don't consider it a break in my streak for several reasons Ė I didnít enjoy it; I did my best to subtly dissuade her from getting an ice cream cake (I knew sheíd leave the leftovers here and I didnít want that); I sent the leftover cheesecake home with them; eating that sweet did not trigger the desire for more sweets; and because my primary junk food focus is on what I eat between meals and this was part of a meal.

How yesterday went Ė
I had no chips with dinner or between
Had my first sweet in three weeks and didnít enjoy it
I was careful with portions, did not take seconds on potato salad
I sent the leftover potato salad and cheesecake home with them

All in all a successful day, better than I usually do. I usually overeat on the potato salad and we usually have larger servings of dessert. Iím pleased with that and will continue challenging myself to avoid junk food.
Next goal Ė one month no junk food

    usually the sweet trigger your desire for more at a later date.... I don't know how many days it takes to get it out of my system.. a few...but the smaller the amount the better it is... emoticon emoticon
