Groceries with Mom

Sunday, August 18, 2013

I take my Mother shopping every Saturday. I enjoy emoticon spending the time with her, but I am getting a little frustrated emoticon with some of the excess from the "deals" and coupons.

A $1 coupon off 3, when the item is on sale 3 for $5 is a good deal.
Today's item will not go bad and eventually will get used.
But we did NOT NEED it.

She is by no means a hoarder like you see on reality TV. But is paying less for the item really worth the space it will now take up waiting to be used?????

The cost of almost everything is increasing fast. Paying less for items she will eventually use is good financial sense. It's sweet of you to make time to take her grocery shopping each week. Enjoy your time together. It's up to her to choose what she spends, saves and stores.

Just trying to stretch the old dollar.
It is hard sometimes isn't to separate a bargain we need from one we don't and it
isn't easy to break the long time habits.
