Day 139 - Pushed Myself in Jogging

Saturday, August 17, 2013

My inhaler is definitely my "Popeye's Spinach"! OMG! I thought it was never possible for me to jog more than a quarter mile without being breathless and in pain.

Today after work, I jogged 2 miles non-stop! My form was starting to get bad and my legs were rubbery, but my breathing was not so bad. I walked for a little more than a quarter mile and then jogged a half mile. I did this for the next three miles.

So, I think I jogged 4 miles and walked a mile in all today! I was averaging 15 minutes per mile for the five miles. At some point in my jogging, I was able to relax into my music and in my thoughts other than freaking out that I am JOGGING!

My new goal is to be able to jog 3 miles non-stop! That would be cool!

When did you realize or maybe that isn't the right word...but how did you know you were ready to take it up a notch and jog? How far were you walking? Thanks, and congrats again....Jen emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
