Setback and Reset!!!

Remember this?

That was pretty much the only training Jeff and I did for our hiking journey to the West Coast trail - a 8k walk with a 30 lbs ... NOTHING compared to what we did in British Columbia!

So my setback is this:
When on vacation, I don't want to stress about food... and I eat what I feel like. This time it was not so much an issue because I knew we were going to burn a lot more than our calorie intake (during our 4 day hiking excursion anyway!). What I was not expecting is to have to go through a recovery phase... Running is definitely not the same as hiking! It was like going through an intense ST bootcamp! So I could not jump back right into training routine - I tried to run but I had to take last week completely off... My back was killing me. emoticon

On top of that, I was on temporary duty all week. In our Capital City -Ottawa
I went for walk every night ... but ...

No exercise
Not in range (quite the opposite! - a few episode of binge eating)
Lack of sleep

In short - WRT what I track on Spark, my report for last week is not so good ...

I was happy to spend a couple of nights with Maggie (she is back after spending a few week with her dad!) and eating out was a good opportunity to chat and catch up. Jeff joined us on Thursdays night - he took a couple of day off and I think they enjoyed going to the Mint yesterday...


AnD NOW the RESET!!!

Let's think positive ...
I know I CAN do this, so I will do this!

In fact, I started last night, as we arrived back home... for Maggie and I! ( emoticon I have a partner! - I think...)
She went to her Dojo for Akido and I drove to the Lake with Jeff and a friend - that is when I decided to run back home!

Tonight, I review my training plan to gradually get back to increasing my mileage.

Goal:
22 Sept - 13.1 Army Marathon in Ottawa (last year I did my PB -1:38... This year it is a marker in my training for my 1st 26.2...)

26 Oct - 26.2 International Niagara Marathon.
- I want to finish it!
- I would love to qualify for the Canadian Forces Running Championship for this event, so I need a time -3:45.

Consistency and dedication... I know what to do to achieve, I need to DO it!
