Whole, Healthy Food

There is something to be said for food in its original state, whole and healthy food. It is fresh (this time of the year from farmers markets or your garden), its delicious without a lot of fuss or prep time. I have not been following fancy recipes or using hard to find unusual ingredients. I am so enjoying steamed veggies right now with my meat of choice mixed in, adding spices as I choose that day. Totally enjoying this process. There is just no stress in eating this simply. I've been on this path of learning about health for 9 years now. Striving to continually learn and grow into the best me I can be, only from the grace of my Savior.
I am completely amazed at how delicious meat is that is raised humanely, in the way God intended the specific animal to live. In the pasture most of the time. It does cost more, but its so good and has so many more nutrients, I'm eating less without it being a big deal. My grocery budget is actually going down as a result. My family is not complaining about the delicious food. I am losing weight and my clothes are fitting better. I am excited and full of hope for the first time in awhile, regarding weight loss that is.
I am not done. I am down 9 of the 18 lbs I gained since December. Still wanting to reach a healthy weight somewhere between 160 & 170. I have about 39 pounds to go Clothes still do not fit me the way I like. I will be rectifying that by hitting the resale shops. We should all feel good in our clothes again.
I'll be blogging Monday with my 3 week results (despite my monthly visitor coming early!). I will be happy no matter what that scale says. I am feeling the non scale victories and seeing them DAILY right now. Really making strides and loving life!
