I went shopping yesterday. I hate shopping. I hate shopping in the "Plus Size" section. It feels like there is a conspiracy from fashion designers to create really ugly clothes for overweight women. In the men's department, they have the same clothes just bigger sizes. But in the women's department, the clothes are different. The clothes look like something the ladies on The Golden Girls would have worn - big floral prints, bright, obnoxious colors. It's so frustrating!

All the more reason to get down to a size in the "normal" section! I am on my way!

I didn't know Target changed their sizing. I don't tend to buy any clothes there for myself. My Target only has like 3 racks of plus size clothes. So I don't even bother. I haven't tried Catherine's. I figured they would be expensive like Lane Bryant. I don't want to pay a lot for clothes I don't like and don't intend to wear very long. Then again, I've been saying that for 11 years. LOL

Shopping can be a pain in the tuchus. I do it as little as possible. Whenever possible, I skip the mainstream stores and hit places like Catherine's that aren't designing for large women as an after thought. I don't know about you, but Target resizing everything just made me want to scream. Having to have a sign up to explain what the measurements were for their new 1,2,3,& 4 was just annoying as all get out and unnecessary.

Squirrelmomma1 - Congratulations on the XL! It gives me hope that one day I will be able to wear fashionable clothes too. That must have felt so good!

You are so right about the sleeves! I forgot to even mention that. They think we have these crazy long arms and legs. Being overweight doesn't make your limbs grow.

OMG - you sound like me! I complain all the time about the horrific clothing they expect us 'plus size' women to wear. Hideous tops, ugly pants, even uglier dresses. And why do they think we have orangutan arms? Who the heck is designing this stuff and why do we waste our money on it! And yes, that has been my goal too - get small enough to be able to wear stuff from the 'normal' clothing area. I went shopping yesterday too and finally (finally!) was able to fit into an XL in the regular women's area. That is a huge accomplishment for me and it opens up alot more clothing choices. Good luck!
