Wk 123 Weigh In

Saturday, August 17, 2013

Keeping this short because it still hurts to type!!

As you are probably aware, this week sucked, but that's life for ya. I'm trying to stay positive but it's difficult sometimes.

On to this week's numbers:

Weight : 209.6
Gain : 0.4
Total : 110.4

So I gained 0.4 this week, that's not bad. I was expecting a 1-2 lb gain since the cheat day weight wasn't coming off like it normally does. I can look at this week's weight as a good thing because this stupid fiberglass and cotton splint probably weighs close to 1 lb, maybe more.

That's all for now. Thanks for all of the support!

Hoping the weekend brings better times. You are still going in the right direction on the scale and are a continued inspiration to many.

Ken, I've been "out-of-the-loop" for awhile, and just learned of your injury...I'm so sorry! I hope you are doing better and will get good news when you go to the surgeon in a couple of days.

I can relate to being so frustrated you just want to punch something....I wanted to punch the guy I met on a first date (last Sunday), Thursday night. The date was a 12 on a scale of 1-10. He said all the right things, did all the right things but in my gut I was thinking, "This has to be too good to be true"... he had told me he had deleted his dating profile because he had found what he was looking for and had no need to be back on there...his words not mine. Anyway, Thursday night after we had talked for the night, something just didn't feel right... (he had told me he was driving back from Athens, Ga) but my gut was telling me he was I went on-line and he was on there. It hurt and stung but was also glad I found out what kind of man he was before I wasted anymore time with him. I went to bed and tossed and turned for hours, finally got up around 2:20 AM and checked and he was back on there...I sent him a message to let him know I knew he was back on the site "looking". He responded back that he was sorry, he was glad to meet me but had decided that he wasn't ready to settle down with one woman... We had talked about this before I met him and he assured me he was ready for a long-term relationship...and on our date (that was 6 hrs long) he told me I was what he had been waiting for. I just don't get it~

Now, have I taken your mind off you hand?? LOL I hope you feel better soon and next time you want to "punch" something, I have someone in mind.... :-)

Great job on holding the gain down to a small amount - hopefully this week is better for you :)

see it's doable to not go crazy and gain so much weight while not exercising. I'm becoming a true believer that weight loss is 90% food and 10% exercises. I've seen it with myself lately and now you. 0.4 is not a real gain. it becomes weight gain when it is repeated every week but until then it can be so many things.....

You are doing great!

Awesome job, I think you're really down because the splint weighs something

Sorry I missed the update about the surgeon, that is no good. If it was here in OZ you'd have to wait three weeks and pay $200- $300 just to go to the appointment. But at least you have one -you are probably a quick healer too. I could ask Doc B if you have any questions but i don't think she did much in the way of ortho. It is amazing what she does know.

So you actually lost 0.6 as the splint weighs a pound and you added 0.4!!!! win win.

Hope it all resolves in a good way for you. If you don't take the meds maybe your body is trying to shut down other areas to heal that one. Just a thought.
Thinking of you this week for a great outcome. Stay cool man!!! :):)

This is just a minor set back, look at what you have achieved already, you are so close to goal weight - you're almost there.

I am surprised you have to wait so long to see a surgeon. All the sympathy for toughing it out which I will want back in couple of weeks given my foot reconstruction. emoticon

Yep...that would definitely add up on the scale. I think you did great regardless, especially when you're not feeling well. I hope your hand heals soon. emoticon

I agree - splints don't weight zero. Good luck with your recovery and your weight loss.
