The Official Ten Minute Exercise group posted its Quotes of the Week this morning, and this one struck a note:
5)You will know that forgiveness has begun when you recall those who hurt you and feel the power to wish them well. -- Lewis B. Smedes
Last summer/fall, I fell in love with a man who invited me to move to Arizona. Short story is, I'm not in Arizona. Recently I contacted him, because I was applying for a secretary/admin job at Barnes-Jewish Hospital here and I hoped that he could be a personal reference, since he's a physician too.
He agreed to be a reference, and yesterday, he offered to fly me out to Arizona to visit (or pay for gas, knowing my passion for road trips). I would love to do the drive but I can't see that it would be a good thing to do. While I'm not angry anymore, and don't even feel hurt that it (the relationship) mysteriously crashed, I can't see the trip being beneficial to either of us, emotionally.
And I do, very much, wish him the best. He's a good man. I hope he finds his peace.
