WEATHER REPORT NOT GOOD

Saturday, August 17, 2013

Well yesterday they the weather station told us it would be clear by Sunday But today we have several more days of severe storms. These are wicked. They bring torrent rains and high winds....Just plain rain would be okay but these are scary. I told Hubby I am glad we had all the trees on our property removed. Trees are just coming down. The ground is saturated and then the winds hit the trees. Very few people take proper care of their trees and have them cut back regularly and have all the dead cut out. Of course tree maintainence is expensive and it is not on peoples mind. I sat here looking up at the monster limb over my house and it frightened me Hubby and I bit the bullet and had it removed and all the trees in our yard. Of course we get more heat from the sun, but we ae not constantly being bombarded by limbs falling on the house. Just last week a neighbor had a limb come down and went through their roof into the kitchen. At least no one was in there at the time. She had remarked we were spending too much to get our trees down and this week she is asking for the phone number of the tree surgeon that did our trees. She said they have tree to get down. Their insuranance company had informed them last year they needed to get the limbs from over the roof. I just wonder if they are not wanting to pay or the limbs have to be removed first. I have three friends that were advised about limbs if they want to keepp their insurance. The city is also having a major problem with the trees on their right of ways.

Yes that wind can be scary. When we lived in Seattle we had very tall pines all around out house and one storm we lost 14 of them. It was incredible that none of them hit the house.
So I understand. It's a scary noise when they crash down.

Be safe and have a wonderful Sunday.

We had a major windstorm here in Albuquerque a few weeks ago - I think they called it cyclone strength - sudden bursts blew tree limbs off and big old trees fell. What a mess! I was at work and we heard the wind (and saw the damage when we got off), but my house and area was fine. I'd expected to see my lawn decorations all over the neighborhood. I've had my trees trimmed a bit the last couple of years. Scary that some people think it's not needed.
