Letter of Encouragement
Saturday, August 17, 2013
It is too bad that you feel discouraged about weight loss. When you say that you aren't sure you want to live to care for the man that won't admit his need to participate in weight loss efforts, you do realize that you are being selfish. When you married, you promised to have and to hold in sickness and in health.
I think you are afraid to succeed. I think you are afraid that people will praise and idolize you. You do really dislike undeserved praise and I don't think you believe that you deserve to have that kind of attention. In fact, it isn't your family or others that sabotage your efforts, but yourself.
Only you can decide what you want in your life. Do you want health and life, or fear and hiding behind your increasing girth? You can have all your goals. You just need to stop worrying about others and work for it.
You ask what to do and say when people say things like "You are doing so good," or "I see you out running" or "Are you healthy or anorexic- you have lost so much weight!" when you know within yourself that you could do better. I wish I could answer that for you, but I really don't know how to help you. Just know that I am there for you and will be there when you really just want to eat a sugary treat. Call me. I will be there. Honest.
your own best friend.
