Planning Workouts

I have to laugh a bit here about my near bike-crisis today. If you haven't read my earlier blog, I have a broken bone in my foot and cannot do any fast-walking, jogging, or tae kwon do for the next two months. However, I am cleared for cycling, which was a huge relief.

However, I noticed earlier this week that my bike was spontaneously shifting into different gears, especially when going uphill. Ugh! I needed to bring the bike into the shop to get fixed. In my mind, the excuses started: Great, now I can't do anything. Time to get back on the couch and just get fat.

Nope! Brought the bike in to the shop and the guys had it adjusted in about 30 seconds. I left those excuses back in the gutter outside the bike shop and finished off a 10.4 mile ride (made all the more triumphant by the big boot on my right foot!)

So now I will plan out my workouts for the week. No excuses necessary.

    Good for you! It's so easy to make the excuses, but that's also why I don't do one form of exercise. I have found the more types of exercise that we enjoy, the easier it is to get out there and do our thing!

    Now that's freakin awesome!!! I have had set back after set back with physical issues and I regret not doing something at least through them. There is always something we can do. Awesome job kicking and leaving the excuses at the curb!! You ROCK!!

    Good for you! I need to stop doing that, too. If I can't walk or stand well, I can't do anything, right? No pushups using the stairs so I don't have to kneel.....no free weights with the entire set of dumbbells I have in my living room.....no P90X upper body workouts, no Totally Ripped Core work.....etc. You see - I really have NOTHING else I can do.....NOT! Thanks for being a good example! I'm on it!
