I was awake early again. I had not biked to work on Thursday (my "loose" plan) due to a downpour (thunder overhead as I awakened)... so I was hopeful that all we would have today was overcast.
This proved to be the case. As I pedaled toward the office I noted that it does not get light quite as soon. Autumn is approaching. I had my flashing lights on, front and rear... and I remembered to turn them off before heading in to the building (win!).
After work, wanting to get going, I did not change back into my cycling shorts, but rode home in my "skinny jeans". Hmmmm. Reminder to self: biking in jeans is for little kids who do not know any better. I used to bike in jeans all the time as a kid. Now, I'm spoiled.
Regardless, I made it home, to a welcome hot shower and had my nutritious supper. Now, for an early bedtime, and tomorrow: plan on scoping out the venue for the first half marathon of the double half Mary. Figure I'll do a ten mile out and back there tomorrow, (meaning 5 miles out, 5 miles back, 10 total), and again at the second venue on Sunday. That does two things for me: familiarizes me with where I will be going in the pre-dawn light in a few weeks, and tests out the footing. Besides getting in my planned workout.
Hope you're out there taking good care of YOU... using your energy to heal and transform, as today's centering thought reminded us. Namaste, and Spark on!
