35 Plus Pounds Lost

So many people have asked me how I have lost this much and what I had to change in my life to get here. I am not at goal weight just half way there. Each day is an other day to make good choices to live healthier. Some days I don't take my owen advice and some days I do.
I read a lot but have found that the best advice is found in the articles here on Spark People. I have learned many things like eating more fruits and vegetables will help you in so many ways, don't just take my word for it read the articles in the nutrition section. I have increased my intake over 60% of what it was before. I eat fruit for snacks and have at least 4 servings of vegetables a day. I don't just eat salads all the time, I add vegetables to my sandwiches at lunch. I have at least two servings of vegetables at dinner. And for desert nothing beats a fresh ripe peach.
I don't do a lot of what you call formal exercise but I do walk every where I go. I just walked a mile to the doctor's office this morning. I lift light weights 3x a week and do push ups to build up my strength. Some times I do the push ups every day. One of the Spark teams I am on "Pure Dedication" has some great team members who encourage me to do at least 10 push ups a day. I read articles about fitness and try new things.
I am a work in progress and some days work harder than other but one thing I don't do is give up on myself and you should not give up on you.
