And the numbers are in...

With my family history of heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, cancer and the like I am proud to say the only problems I am having is with my cholesterol and triglycerides. Way , way to elevated.
Since I know you are reading this, Luann7, the numbers are: Total Cholesterol...269. Triglycerides... 205. HDL... 39. LDL... 189. Vitamin B... 1000. TSH... 1.4. Blood count... normal with the white blood cell at 8.3 and hemoglobin at 12.8.
So basically Doc wants me to go on cholesterol meds. I hate meds. Seems like that is all I do is pop pills. Wanted me to take melatonin since I sleep for crap and that made me the proud owner of acid reflux. Solution to that? Prilosec. My answer to that? Bath and Bodyworks. They have an amazing body wash called Sleep. It's a mixture of lavender and vanilla essence. I come home from work, take a shower using that and sleep like a log! Thank you Bath and Body!!!
I suppose I should also thank One a Day vitamins for coming out with their Women's Pro Edge formula. I am proud to say that since I have started taking this vitamin I have dropped 8 pounds. I have no intention of picking them back up again.
Granted I am still tired as all heck, but I think that is because I find myself running in circles most of the time trying to find something to do. My knees thank me for dropping the weight and I am certain they feel I can loose some more. That will happen in time. Right now I'm just trying to adapt to all the new aches and pains from everything trying to work together as it should now.
So for the near future I have planned to call the doc and get in to discuss the meds. I am going to look into a low cholesterol (possibly just a cardiac) diet for awhile. The low cholesterol one will have to be a permanent change. Going to have to see how much I will have to really adapt some of my favorite meals since I am not a fish eater and not so fond of veggies either (but I love to can, go figure).
Oh, and for some good news for a change.... I got a promotion at work!!!! For those of you that don't know, I work in a bindery and for the past 2 years I had taken on the responsibilities of an stitcher operator. Well the company finally decided to recognize that by making me a stitcher operator and giving me a $4 raise!!! Makes this girl happy as the money is greatly needed (though the stress is not) and things should become a little more comfortable around here.
So even though the cholesterol numbers sucked, things are starting to change for the better. It's been slow and very much needed but I am pleased with the results as they are. And yes, Luann, I will let you know when I see the doc about the meds. For now, I need to find something to eat.
Love you all and thanks for the well wishes.
