I am feeling very good today, and after the phone interview that I just had for a job, I am feeling very accomplished as well!!!! This is the best that I have felt about an interview in MONTHS!
When the lady from the company initially contacted me about my application and scheduled a phone interview with me for today, I thought that I might have made a mistake when she asked if mornings or afternoons were better for me...I chose an afternoon appointment. My reasoning for this was that I have not been sleeping well at all at night so I have been up til 3 a.m. every night and I wanted to make sure that I was up and wide awake to talk on the phone for an interview.
But then I thought about it a bit differently. Since my call was scheduled for 3 p.m. on a Friday (and lasted about a half hour), I am most likely the last or close to the last person that she talked to today and hopefully that will make me a bit more memorable!
She ended the call by telling me that she would be giving my file to the hiring manager who would most likely want to schedule an in-person interview possibly as soon as Monday!
I went for a bike ride AND a walk yesterday. It was the first time in about 3 weeks that I have walked and I have a few things that I have noticed...
1- I am able to go more miles on the bike than I am able to walk/jog and I know my brain makes it into something like a marketing ploy....the number makes me feel more accomplished and I will take my NSV's where I can get them!
2- I get a good endorphin rush when I walk/jog (also working out in the gym)...have not gotten one yet while riding...have I mentioned that I LOVE that endorphin high? I am kind of missing it.
3- Its kind of odd to me that I NEED to listen to music while walking/jogging but so far, I prefer no music while riding the bike.
4- I notice smells more while on the bike...flowers and etc. while in the park...I didn't smell anything while walking in the park.
5- My recovery time is a whole lot shorter when I go for a ride. After walking just under a mile last night, I had a whole lot of trouble with my sciatic today.
6- I don't usually sweat even when working out in the gym or walking....but I do when riding the bike....is this a sign of a better workout? I have no idea yet.
7- I am a whole lot hungrier after riding than I am after walking/jogging!
8- I have no idea how many calories I burn. My phone app says one thing and sparkpeople puts the number at less than half of that. I need to get a HRM I guess!
9- I bet that I am going to have to learn how to change or patch a tire sooner or later!
I am trying to get back to tracking my food intake on SP. While I think I have learned enough to go without tracking, I have not really dropped any weight since I stopped tracking so, back at it!
My bruises are still healing up, my thigh and my knee are all but healed, but my shin is still a bit sore and just looks gross! It IS healing and I can tell that it has improved a lot over the last few days so I am not too worried about it. I even performed an experiment on it!
My grandmother always said to rub a bruise to make it go away quicker, but I always wondered how you could prove it....now I have a bruise big enough to find out.
I have rubbed on it every night for the last week, but only on half of it...and sure enough, that side of it is fading faster than the other one!
Way to go Grandma!
All in all, its just a good day for me and I wanted to share it with you!
Take care and love yourself!
