It was something that we all were longing for, my sister, mother and I.
Oh, how we love the mountains and they were calling us.
It started as a whisper on the Summer breeze and then swirled through our thoughts until it was decided. A road trip!
Mama was also looking forward to eating a meal at a restaurant, that she had been to, many times, with her clubs.
We were not disappointed!
Here we have broiled trout, baked apples, pickled beets, spoon bread and Mama had the mashed potatoes, too. All home made!
Mrs. Rowe's, is known for the best pies, all made from scratch.
We shared a couple pieces of Coconut meringue pie.
It was wonderful and such a treat since Betsy and I limit our sweets.
We all love coffee, and here is Mama enjoying a cup.
With fuel in our tummies for the ride in the higher alltitudes, we were off!
It was a mix of sun and clouds and we stopped at the overlooks where we could see more than fog.
This is my favorite! All the wild flowers and butterflies! A few goldfinches, too!
We even saw several Does and fawns!
Pretty big sister, Betsy. She also was kind enough to drive, as she has the best car, for the trip.
We all needed a get away, after work, heat, deaths and illness of loved ones.
The mountains, to us are a spiritual place. A place to connect and recharge.
I prayed at the overlooks for friends...including Spark friends, and family.
The energy I have gained since my trip, is amazing!
Although Betsy and I did not hike, since Mama is unable to, we got just what we needed.
