Packing up Becky

Friday, August 16, 2013

OMG I don't want to do this! Yes when they are little you dream about them going to college to be drs, lawyers and such. Yes this is the way it's suppose to be. Your so proud of there achievements that you have worried over for the last 4 years of high school, hopping and praying her grades are good enough. So we are here, my baby girl, a straight A student all through school, a grade point average above a 4.1 and she has been excepted to a great school with a full scholarship! She wants to be a vet and tomorrow we bring her to her school and leave her??? I don't want to do this, every part of my insides are screaming NO NO NO she's mine and no one can take her away! Now that that is said it's time to pack the car.

I remember when I left my parents at 18 to go to university, there were lots of tears, and missed them so much...so I can imagine what my parents went through...still, i'm back here with them now, i'm married but i'm still their little girl!! You've done well!!

She'll be back to visit. Enjoy your time with her as you move her to campus.

It is so hard to let them go isn't it? the house seems so empty when they leave.
But then you get bragging rights when they achieve their goal...
So, hang in there Mom all will be well.. and there are holidays when she will come home or you can visit her...

Aw, trust me, you're not losing her forever. We ALWAYS come back to mama! You get to start a whole new chapter of your relationship. I love being an adult. Mom and I get to be friends. She'll always be my mama and advise, but now that I'm an old married lady, she's no longer responsible for my decisions, we get to enjoy a friendship on a more peer level. I love it. What a good job you did raising her, too! I know you're super proud. How great she gets to work with animals!
