We've had a really strange summer this year in North Georgia. We've recorded the wettest summer in history and it keeps on raining! Today the high temperature is going to be 68 degrees - in mid August! That's not a record, but close. It feels like fall out there, but of course it's supposed to rain!
Yesterday it was around 78 (again, pretty cool temperature for Georgia (where the average now is around 85-88), but it's drizzly-rainy. I started dinner when I got home from work and then picked up DD#2 from volleyball. I was really hungry, so decided to go ahead and eat dinner instead of running.
DH came home and all 5 of us went outside and played a little volleyball (it had stopped raining). DH went to weedeat, DD#3 went inside and DD#1 went to get froyo with friends. DD#2 and I played for about 15 more mins. and then I had to go in and watch my Falcons play a pre-season game (ended up losing to Baltimore after I went to bed, but the 1st Quarter with all the starters looked promising).
It's supposed to really start raining later today and then rain on & off most of the weekend, which really sucks because the temperatures are supposed to remain cool.
DD#2 has to work concessions for the varsity volleyball tournament right after school and JV won't have practice, so she wants to run after that when I pick her up. Since it's supposed to be raining, we'll run inside (which she prefers anyway).
Tomorrow my niece is going kayaking (I guess weather permitting) and we get to watch my great nephew (GN) - who is 9 months old and continues to get cuter - if that's possible! If we don't get to take him to the park, we'll go to the mall to look at mattresses for DD#2's bed. Not as fun as the park and who wants to shop for a mattress, but at least we'll get in some walking and GN should enjoy walking around the mall (well, he'll be in a stroller)!
No plans for Sunday. The grass, of course, is high again, so I'll try to squeeze in lawn mowing between the rain if we get some sun!
Of course this weekend would be the perfect time to get in my strength training.
Special thanks to the condolences on my ducks! I still can't believe they are gone and I expect them to waddle up the driveway. Everyone but me wants to get more - I can't stand the heartache!
