Another Pound Down

Friday, August 16, 2013

Woo-Hoo!!!!! I weighed myself again this morning and found that I lost another pound, hopefully never to be seen again. It has been such a long, hard road for me and with all my health problems and all the meds I'm taking I never thought it was possible to lose even a pound. When I started all over on SP I was 289, I am now down to 276 emoticon I have made it a habit to tell myself every morning when I wake up to stay active and watch what I eat. I have good days and bad days when it comes to my diet, but I'm not letting that slow me down anymore and discourage me. emoticon

RMCKITTRICK, you have the right stuff to get healthy! It IS hard when you have challenges and the moments of victory (a pound lost) seem slow in coming. I'm having the same experience. Like you, I've made the same commitment, NOT giving up this time around!
Your weight loss to date is inspiring and wonderful! Just pick up a 10 pound bag of sugar or dog food or whatever and carry it around for awhile...that's how much you NEVER have to add back to your load, again, cause it's GONE! Yay for you!
Keep celebrating those small victories, and staying in the right mindset. You're doing great!
I learned a good lesson from my granddaughter. When she was only about 2, she struggled to ever finish a meal. Food just isn't her thing (still, and she's 4 now) and she required a lot of coaxing to finish the minimum amounts she needed to eat. One day when I was visiting, she managed to finish all her dinner...without whining or refusing or crying about it. She looked around, triumphantly. We all smiled and said how nice she ate her food. To which she replied, hands in the air, "YAY for ME!" she paused a minute and added, with imperious royal command in her voice, "Everybody, CLAP!" And we laughed, and clapped, while she sat smiling, basking in the applause she felt she deserved, at last. It reminded me it's OK to celebrate, and even more that it's OK to ASK for what you need, if you don't get it spontaneously!
Have a great day,

Jane
