New beginnings! Exercising and Struggling with Fibromyalgia.

This past Monday I started the Couch to 5K program. I was good for the first two days! On the third day, my shins were so tight I could not move. I understand this happens. However, with Fibro, if one pushes to hard, they may push themselves into a flare. So, the third day I took off and took care of my muscles. Yesterday, my friend and I shaved three minutes off of a 3.31 mile route. We made it in 50 minutes. Today through the weekend, I am overall resting, with light exercise.
I am planning to participate in a 5K in October. Even if I walk most of it, I will complete it! :) Over the past year, I have struggled with flares, trying different combinations of meds to help with the Fibromyalgia, and losing some weight. Over a period of three months, I lost 21 pounds. I am glad I lost it, but not how. I was barely eating while my system adjusted to the meds. I am surprised I haven't gained any back. I am looking forward to making myself as healthy as possible. Monday starts Week 2! :)

    Thanks Don! It doesn't totally work in my fibro world. For instance, my plan was to walk/run 4 days. The last day my body said no! I am just trying to get them to coincide. (I think is the right way of putting it). I actually tackled two loops on my 5K route today. I am exhausted but there's always tomorrow!! :)
