A 5:2 loss!

Hi Sparkfriends! emoticon

So I remembered to weigh myself yesterday to assess how the 5:2 is doing (but as I've said in the past, weight loss is not my goal - big, strong muscles and heavier and heavier barbells are! emoticon )

However....

Weight on 24 July: 80.2kgs

Weight on 15 August: 79kgs

So I'm -1.2kg, which doesn't seem like much but consider this: although I have tried to keep my nutrition as clean as possible, there have been more sweet treats than usual these past few weeks, some ice-cream (well, it *is* summer!) and I have baked something every single week since the beginning of the holiday.

Yet despite this, I have experienced a loss - Once I kick the treats into touch (which will probably be easier once my son is back at school and we are back to our normal routine), I'd like to see how effective the 5:2 could truly be.

Here is another one of my fast days dinners:




Vegetarian Chilli, serves 1:

Fry one finely minced garlic clove and half a red chilli, also finely minced in 1 tsp of olive oil.
Add 1 pinch of cumin + 4 chopped small mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes.
Add half a tin of chopped tomatoes and half a tin of red kidney beans and simmer for 10 minutes.
Serve with 2tbsp of brown rice.

(I have found this chilli nutritious and filling enough without the rice which is why there is none on the photo.)

    Well done ! its a loss, i cant see any changes with me on the scales, but i can in my clothes, so congrats that is fantastic!

    Glad it's working well for you. There was an article in todays newspaper about the 5:2 plan. I think I will have to try it.

    Mushrooms in chili? That's a very interesting thought! I think I'll try it! I usually add chopped carrots and some diced, sauted red pepper and sometimes even shredded zucchini. Getting those stealth vegetables to my family.... Ninja Mom strikes again!

    Glad to hear 5:2 is working for you. You also didn't mention hunger in this blog as you had in your previous posts, so I'll take that as a good sign! You seem to be doing well finding new fast meals. Chili is always a very hearty, filling meal. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

    Told you so two weeks ago that you're going to have success with this program. OK, so I didn't know that you weren't trying to lose weight. I was just assuming that. It's still not a bad thing though. Congrats. emoticon
