Day 1 of being back

Friday, August 16, 2013

I am serious and ready to commit. We drove all day home from North Carolina yesterday. I made myself get up early and go to the the beach workout before we got on the road. I could have used the excuse that I needed to pack but this was more important. I also made a point of packing food. People in the car were not happy that we did not stop at our usual fast food road trip place but they all survived.

Today is unpack day but I'm going to drag the kids to the gym for power Yoga. I have not forced my kids to go to the gym once this summer. In the past I have had an unlimited pass for them. That just shows how much I have slowed down on workouts.

I also started reading the Chrissy Wellington book. She is amazing. She is amazing with all her Ironman wins. She is the same age as me but has accomplished so much. I know that I took time to have kids but it still inspires me. I kept reading parts of it to my husband while driving. He was a downer and told me no way was I going to do full Ironman since me running the marathon was hard enough. I told him to stop being a downer. I can still be inspired by these people and their level but maybe aim for half Ironman.

It is interesting when you log into Sparks every day it really keeps you motivated. Again, happy to be back and see all my friends

I'm so happy you're back and YES, emoticon Thanks for the goodie today. I have been so off track it isn't funny, but I'm there with you and we will do it again!
You absolutely can be inspired and do an Ironman if you want to!

So great to see you back, since I am only recently back myself too! Way to make healthy choices before the vacation is even over, you got this girl. And take motivation where you can get it...I love watching the Olympics level Triatholons. Am I ever going to do one...who knows, maybe not, but it is so inspiring to keep me plugging along at what I am doing.

Wow! Way to go. So many possible ways to slide that you didn't let deter you!

I SOOOO get the husband reaction! It is frustrating. Mine is quite unhappy with my continued attempt at running. He feels I should just sit my arse on the couch since these injuries. I can't and won't!
