Every now and then I SPLURGE.

It is well-planned and I stay within or close to my calorie range.

I had a splurge today.

My husband and I had lunch at this wonderful Indian restaurant. They feature only vegetarian dishes from the south of India. We LOVE this place--but truth be told everytime we go it is an eating extravaganza.

The food is a feast not only for our taste buds-- but for all of our other senses too.

--it is diverse in color (and thus nutrients) and is simply lovely to behold;
--the aromas are divine
--the wide range of aromatic and falvorfuk spices exquisite
--the texture in your mouth sublime

You get the picture.

Truth be told, it is a splurge in the purest of senses-- I usually rack up over 1,000 calories every time I go.

But here's the thing....

I "budgeted" for it with a very light breakfast and dinner (don't need more than that with this lunch time feast), and walked with a little more pep in my step to burn a few extra calories today.

So, I ask you--

Do you splurge? If so, on what? Do share...

I so love Indian food as well and Thai.

Answer to your question yes I splurge, but just on everyday healthy items by having a second helping or too big of a portion. I really need to get this under control too :(

Isn't this the most beautiful weather we are having ??? Have a great day !!!

I try not to spurge, except within my calorie range. I tends to affect my blood sugars too much. That Indian restaurant sounds interesting though

Yep, I splurge too, but I too make it fit in my plan. If my husband and I have a date night planned I eat at the lower end of my calorie range for a day or two ahead of time and I know I can still enjoy a few chips and artichoke dip or whatever and not feel bad about it. Your Indian lunch sounds wonderful!

I splurge once a week, it's in my plan! Slow carb 6 days a week, one day carb reset free for all day. Keeps me sane!
