Donít be happy AFTER success.
LIVE HAPPY and success will come.
Challenge based on this TedTalk:
Shawn Achor: The happy secret to better work | Video on TED.com
3 DAILY GRATITUDES:
1) Parent helpers. What a huge difference they make in a teacher's life when they are consistent and available.
2) Time and Practice for activity. Activities such as climbing stairs, basic stationary bike riding, consistency for more than 15 minutes at a time... etc. -- Where I was once easily encouraged to quit because it hurt too much or was too difficult, I'm noticing a sense of strength and success.
3) The McDonald's new drive through menu. It posts the calories of most items. WOW!! Now I know to stick to my coffee and drive OFF!
JOURNALING (Something positive that happened in the last 24 hours): As mentioned above, things are getting easier and easier. This year, taking my students most anywhere that is not in class, requires a climb of the stairs. When I was beginning this routine a couple of weeks ago for teacher training classes, I was out of breath so easily and today, I noticed a faster pace up as well as catching my breath sooner and easier than just a week ago even. I'm an intelligent woman (If I say so myself). I KNOW these things happen with practice and consistency. But I'm so happy I'm aware of them. I get more motivation from those little NSVs.
EXERCISE: On my way around the block a couple of times before a long drive home.
MEDITATION: Remind me not to meditate at work. I can't stop thinking "I hope nobody passes by the window or opens the door" That is NOT a successful meditation practice. :/
RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS:
Karma is sacred and I don't like to explain it to impress others or myself so here's my humble thumbs up for getting it done.
