What a Day!

Thursday, August 15, 2013

No major walking today, though I was chomping at the bit.

Made calls this am for 2 hrs., trying to get medical appts made without a doctor and then expressing my opinions to the different places - made some of them think too,
Showered, edited resume, and took dh and MIL to town for 2pm. He had his visual field test done. I walked to hospital and dropped resume at HR. She told me there was a doc looking for a medical secretary at the hospital too and I tracked that down to find he just hired. Went to library and met with Knit-a-thon lady and got purple wool and pattern to make newborn baby patterns. Spoke to her to about a job, and dropped off a resume there too. Picked up a few groceries. REad while they were to Walmart.

Went to Library and heard a lady there talking about just moving here and being bored and not knowing what to do with her time. So, you guessed it, I approached her and we had a long talk and exchanged phone numbers... EArlier in the day the same librarian had called to tell me they had too many people in the northside book club and didn't want to give me and my friend a book, but I set her straight that it was important to me to stay in that club, being new and looking to make friends and new relationships etc. and my friend and I were willing to share our book, and we got it worked out.

Made a quick supper, but it's already 7pm, so it's too late to go for my walk tonite...

Breakfast - cottage cheese, WW toast and peanut butter,
Lunch - homemade soup,
Snack - oatmeal to go bar, ice cream cone
Supper - corned beef and sauerkraut and mozza sandwich, butterscotch SF pudding, 2 peaches
busy day.

You had quite a day, but I'm so glad you got things worked out with the book club lady. Some people just don't realize how important it is to be able to make new friends. Everyone should be welcome somehow. Hugs!

busy busy!Good job sticking to your guns with the book club. It is hard enough to make new friends in a new place without being moved out of clubs and stuff right away!
Also great that you put your resume out there in a few different places and stepped outside of your comfort zone! Bravo! Proud of you!

I'm glad you made a new friend. More importantly, I'm glad you stood up for yourself, went out of your comfort zone a little to pursue things, and tried different angles on things. Good job!
