Rheumatologist Appointment

Thursday, August 15, 2013

My rheumatology appointment was today - left the house at 8 am. Just got home about 12:20. Had a very detailed exam/consultation with the rheumatologist, who I really like. They took about 10 vials of blood to check for everything and anything under the sun. Plus a couple of other tests. The phlebotomist was extremely good and was able to get all that from just one vein without digging. He was Filipino and had fun talking about places I'd visited in the Philippines. I had a number of x-rays. I have an appointment scheduled in a couple of weeks with a neurologist for some kind of special scan because my left foot has gone numb - then an appointment that same day again with the rheumatologist. Anyway - where my primary care doctor tends to under-react, this doctor is going all out! He asked me at one point why my doctor hadn't followed certain things up and all I could do is shrug and say "I told him about every single one of these symptoms." I really hope that we can get some good answers from it all.

So glad you like the new doctor, to me it is real important to have someone that is interested in wanting to help with our medical probloems. Sorry to hear that you are having a lot of pain and having to deal with a foot that goes numb.

Sounds really positive, very happy for you that at last things seem to be moving. It's a bit of a worry about your foot going numb. I am sure you will get sorted. Are you going to start back on the painkillers now the appointment is over, or will you wait. Really prayed for you this morning. God bless.
