A couple of bad days..

Thursday, August 15, 2013

This week hasn't been a very good one. I have been stress snacking and my weight is up by 2.5 pounds - just what I needed right before a doctor's appointment where the first thing they want you to do is step on that dreaded scale!
On the way over to the doctor's office a deer jumped out of the bushes right in front of the truck, which we only picked up from the garage last Friday after some major repairs! The front on the driver's side is all bashed in :(( What a mess. The strange thing is that despite the massive damage, the deer was fine and luckily so were we, just quite shaken up and ready to cry at the damage to the truck.
The good news was that I had a great check-up and got some answers the same day! My thyroid TSH levels were in the normal range but she is going to increase my dose a little to see if that helps with some of my symptoms, like my hair shedding to where it has become rather thin. So maybe I won't go bald after all!!
Things were looking up - or so we thought... on the way home the brand new (less than a week!) windshield was hit by a rock and is chipped :( Gotta love Colorado roads - every year we have to replace a windshield... This should hold over to next summer, when we will replace it just before we head south again.
The icing on the cake was the internet quitting early evening - and this morning it has been wafting in and out. This seems to be an "in: moment - but I'll make sure to copy before I try and post it LOL
As you can imagine my stress levels are through the roof and I actually had a normal blood pressure when they checked it yesterday - not normal for me, about 20 points higher but apparently 120/75 is considered normal :) MY normal is 100/60 on a good day..

Let's hope this weekend things will settle down. The insurance guy has been over to look at the truck and next week I should have my higher dose thyroid pills :)

I understand stress. With school starting for me this week, and my son starting high school, our household has been a chaotic mess! Let's pray we both have a better week next week.

My heart really goes out to you about the hair loss. I lost so much hair, big handfuls of it until it got thin and its so dry. I hate thyroid issues. I"m not taking my drugs though and I hope I don't go bald. My skin is unbearably dry. WHY do we have these thyroid problems!!

Oh Lis, so glad that you all weren't hurt. When I lived up in Keystone I was replacing the windshield every year to. Hopefully with the weekend coming up you'll be able to relax and enjoy.

Thanks everyone! Internet is still a bit of a disaster - very choppy, not sure if I can get on here often till it's fixed.

Sorry to hear about all the problems you have been having. I am sorry your truck ended up with so much damage but I am glad no one got hurt. A dear ran in front of our car about a year and half or so ago. I was about three miles from home after traveling about three hours. I felt blessed that neither my husband or I did not get hurt. I am sure you were happy to get a good report from the Dr.'s office visit. I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week. You deserve it!

That sounds like a terrible run of bad events. I hope things start going the other direction soon. Glad to hear that you are well.
Don't even get me started on windshields around here...

Glad to hear that you are safe and healthier. Sorry to hear about your car trouble. Must be something about the way the moon and stars are lining up. My normal calm has been chaotic as well.

Definitely sounds like you had a rough day! While living in Littleton CO, I usually had something break my windshield almost every month. Glad to hear you are okay though & your DR visit was good! Love & Hugs!
