About Middle school

Thursday, August 15, 2013

First let me say I only cried half way home after dropping off my baby at the middle school! That was a great improvement for me!!! So we always get paper work to fill out from all the kids over the next week and the kids love to call it our homework. Now it is a pain in the backside to fill out the papers for 5 kids every year but don't get me wrong we do it as soon as possible with everything else going on in our lives. So yesterday when the 2 youngest boys handed us a stack of papers each we were no surprised HOWEVER, one "homework assignment is NOT going to happen! This is what the paper says

Dear Families,
I'm so excited to have your student in my team this year and I look forward to getting to know them. However, no one knows them better than you! So... In a million words or less, tell me about your student!
This is an assignment to help me better serve your students, so I hope everyone will participate!

Are you KIDDING me!!!!! There is no time in our lives to write 100 words about one of the kids I mean out of a family of 7 6 are in school 3 work full time and I have so little time I do spark on my phone while running on a tread mill! Give me a break!!! I HATE this school, God forgive me for using the word hate!

I totally understand and I have 6 kids as well (3 out and 3 still in). But I found this exercise extremely important because I have one golden child is very quiet and laid back (In school that is) that his flies under the radar and have missing assignments out the rear end!! So I tell the teachers all his little slick moves and it helps them keep an eye on him. I also let me know that we are extremely active parents and will pop up at anytime to "check" on him and that I send a lot of emails and he may end of up daily progress sheets. It's my time to warn them about him and US!! LOL I'm sure it's a lot of work and will take time to do, but if you have a little slickster, it's a great opportunity to let them know. But your child is not a problem child, filling this out shouldn't be necessary.

Good Luck!!

Some of these schools get more ridiculous each year. I would probably put a little sticky note on that one saying, okay, but you have to write 200 words and send it to all of us about yourself first. Haha! emoticon
