Live and Let Die

Thursday, August 15, 2013

I saw Paul McCartney live in concert last Friday night! It was the first night of Outside Lands, a three day musical festival held in my hometown, San Francisco, in Golden Gate Park. This was my third year in attendance and we've had a lot of amazing musical legends over the years including Stevie Wonder and Metallica. BUT NOTHING. COMPARED. TO PAUL. :mind blown:

It was a wonderful weekend. As expected, there was much food, fun and spirits. And I was okay with that. It comes but once a year and it doesn't last forever.

I remember last year, I came back from Outside Lands and was at my low weight since starting Sparkpeople, just 8 pounds from Onederland. I pledged to myself that I would get right back on track. But of course, more events followed as summer closed out. A socially packed August gave way to a "virtuous" September, which, of course, ultimately. descended into an outrageous October (Halloween!), a notorious November (Thanksgiving!!) And a disastrous December (Hannukkah, Christmas and New Year's!).

This year, I can see the traps for the unwary. And I intend to avoid them. Last year, between August and January, I gained 11 pounds. This year, I may only lose a few or stay the same. I'll try like hell to lose more. But even if I don't, I know I'll do better than I did last year. And that's what this process is all about. Can I be a little better today than I was yesterday?

    Wow ! What a fun concert ! ! ! I think I'm feeling kind of jealous emoticon

Although you have had your ups & downs this summer, Olivia, I can really see a change in your attitude through your blogs; one that is coming naturally to you now and is part of a life sustaining mind-set for this healthy journey we are on. emoticon

I saw Sir Paul in May, the 2nd night of this tour here in Orlando. Fulfilled one of my bucket list items, and it was worth every penny! I had wanted to see him since 1963!!!

Yes, I am determined to get through the winter without gaining weight this year, and hoping - no, PLANNING - to lose more before the year is over.

We CAN do this!!

sounds like you had a blast, glad to hear it,
and yes for sure, it is getting close to that time of year, when it seems necessary to put food in our mouths, extra food, silly isn't it, we reward ourselves with food, family get togethers' revolve around food, celebrations, same thing, so I am going to do my best to at least stay the same also, we shall see.

I bet you can do it too. You have the tools. Believe in yourself.
I saw Paul 3 years ago in Kansas City. He was freaking awesome!!! I still have the picture of the stage and audience on my phone! emoticon emoticon
