Week check in... Diet Change

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Wow... it is amazing what things happen when you shake up your diet. I am learning so much about myself and my body.

I have been on this change now for 7 days and I am feeling awesome! I have been losing weight steadily and feeling better. To eliminate starch and non processed foods causing amazing results. I no longer have stomach issues or at least haven't had them all week. I feel like I have more energy and I am sleeping better. Weird!

All week... all 7days I have stayed in my calorie range. That is the first for me! I have been trying new foods and I am getting used to all the planning / prepping. It is hard work but it is very rewarding.

Here is one of my new recipes. I have had this for lunch now twice and it is so good!

This is shredded cabbage (regular and purple) and shredded carrots (2 cups) with 2 oz. of chicken strips and 1/4 cup of peanuts. The dressing is Kraft Asian Toasted Sesame. (Very little dressing as it goes a long way.) The cabbage and carrots I am just using a pre made bag of cole slaw for my 2 cups. (Total Calories = 350)

I also invented a new smoothie. I had a sweet tooth the other day and since I am staying away from too much sugar I made myself a smoothie. It helped! I took 1/3 cup of light cherry pie filling, 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, 1 1/2 cups of almond milk, and ice. Blend and enjoy! (Total Calories = 300)

Going to stay on track and keep pushing forward! They say it takes 21 days to start a habit. Well I am on day 7.... going to make it to 21 and beyond!

YAY!!! Great job! I love the salad! I make one that is cole slaw mix, green onions, oregano and feta cheese with a red wine vinegar/olive oil dressing. Add some salt and pepper, let it rest before eating and it's yummo! I think I may toss some chicken or maybe chickpeas in it next time!

Sure does look like you are on to something with taking out the "bad" stuff. I think we all know this but don't give it a full on effort to see how our bodies respond. Looks like your body loves you for it!

Way to go!!
