oh crap!! i did it again

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

well its hump day.

i did horrible food wise yesterday but i did great excercise wise. i need to get it together. i am only hurting myself when i eat bad. i have figured out what works for me. i just need to stick with it. points dont work, extreme dieting dont work. the only thing that works is counting calories on spark and making sure i get in all my nutritional components

i bought a really good snack mix at sams club. i knew when i bought it that it was a mistake. it had cranberries, cashews, almonds, white chocolate chips. ok. a 1/4 cup serving is do able. yeah right. this stuff is so good that i cant eat just that amount. i grabbed the bag last night and started muching in bed. bad idea. i couldnt stop. so scale is up today and i HAVE to get rid of this stuff today!!

i am excited about my 5k training and i am going to be incorporating some weight training.

its about time for work so everyone have a great day

Moderation can be tough when the treats are handy and tempting you! I can relate to pulling out a bag of trail mix and munching away - one way that I have managed to stop myself from pulling out the whole bag is to divide it up right away into single serving portions (I use the little sandwich size baggies) and still try to pace myself so that I don't inhale the whole thing immediately, but even if I finish quickly, it was just one serving!

Thank-you for posting, because I'm sure glad I'm not the only one that does that sort of thing.

I do that with CHIPS. I can bypass the trail mix-y type stuff, because even a quarter-cup is mega-calories for such a tiny amount, and being a salty kinda gal, it's not worth it to me. But chips, man...I get a bag of those, and I see the bottom of it way too soon!

I love the 4 simple rules you posted. I'm going to try printing it out. =)

I hear you on eating directly from the bag!

When we buy trail mix, the moment we get it home we portion it all out into snack bags (one snack bag per serving according to a digital kitchen scale) and then put the repackaged trail mix packs into the bag.

I have sworn off trail's evil and that's all there is to it. I buy myself a Luna bar (love the different flavors) and I stick to that. It's a fixed serving and I can't screw up there.

The Indulgent Trail Mix form Sam's Club is wicked evil!

You are so right! You can't stick to a 1/4 cup serving.

If you need to get rid of it, take it to work and give it to co-workers or just put it in an outside garbage can. I know it sucks to waste money, but your your health is more important
