Week 1 = Success

I am thrilled to say that I lost 1.6 lbs this past week! That was just a bit above my goal so I am a happy camper! Who knew that exercising and watching would I ate would help me lose weight?!

Anyway, normally on my weigh-in day I swing by McDonald's and grab breakfast and then eat something just as unhealthy for lunch - because I "deserved" it. But today I packed my healthy lunch and some healthy snacks instead. I didn't bring anything for lunch because I flat ran out of time to make anything. It was either make lunch & wear my jammies to work or get dressed and trust myself to get something healthier for lunch. It is entirely possible that I'll just eat my yogurt & strawberries for lunch instead of buying something anyway. This afternoon at work we are having an ice cream social, and I plan to treat myself. Since I work for a grocery chain, Save A Lot, I'm sure it'll be some of our goodies.

I'm making a new recipe tonight for dinner and I got up early to put it all in the crockpot before I left for work (another reason lunch didn't get made). It's a Teriyaki Chicken recipe that I found on Pinterest. However, when I went to click on it to take me to the actual recipe page, I couldn't find the complete instructions, so I had to "wing-it". Hopefully it turns out ok!

The weather is absolutely gorgeous here in St. Louis so I'm planning a lunchtime walk for today. I'm a little (ok a lot) behind on my exercise minutes for the month, so I need to step it up if I'm going to make it to 1000 minutes.

    Congratulations on your weight loss! And you're making plans to lose even more. That's really good! I should use my crockpot more. Your teriyaki chicken sounds yummy! I'm sure you didn't need a recipe to make it.

    Keep it up! It's great that you are making the decision to not completely indulge in "treats" in celebration of your weight loss. I think that is what has always stopped me from progressing....I start doing well, then I reward myself with a good meal and then cannot get back on track. So, now I have to respectfully decline when someone offers to take me out for a "celebration dinner". If I do not have the will power to stay away from those high fat foods at a restaurant then I would rather not even go. I have decided my health is more important than satisfying my taste buds.
