What did I just sign up for?

Tuesday, August 13, 2013

Ok, so I know that half of you reading this are probably reading it because you think I've signed up for a race of some sort, but no. I did not sign up for a race, I signed up for something much worse and far more scary. A friend of mine posted on Facebook about looking for a model to draw the face of. She wanted someone whose face had character. Well today she posted that she wasn't having any luck getting anyone to volunteer and so I said "I'm not the face you were looking for, but you can draw me." WHAT THE CRAP!? DID I SERIOUSLY JUST SAY THAT!? Well yes, yes I did. And even worse yet, she messaged me and said she would LOVE, yes capitalized, to photograph and draw me. So now, I am meeting her at a park to be photographed and then she will draw me. HOLY CRAP! I don't like cameras and I especially don't like getting my photo taken, so why on earth did I just volunteer to do this?! Oh boy, Jesus I'm going to need your help for this! Honestly though, as nervous as I am, I am also looking forward to it because I want to work on not being so afraid of getting my picture taken...especially by others. Prayers will be appreciated!

oh I think this is fantastic! What a great way to see yourself through anothers eyes! They seem to find so much beauty that we miss in ourselves!

Sending out a prayer! And, honestly, times when I've left my comfort zone have often ended up being the best thing I ever did.

I don't think there are very many people who would say they like to get there pictures taken. I, for one, don't. That is because I can see every darn flaw I have. I especially hate the way I smile and as I grow older I am less than thrilled with the loose skin under my chin! But those that see us don't see those same flaws in us. So enjoy the experience and be honored that she wants to use you as her model emoticon
