#backontrack challenge days 8-13

Aug 8
What small goal are you focusing on today? Every little bit of effort counts toward something BIG!!
I am still focusing on maintaining a calorie deficit. I have a little catching up to do.
Aug 9
Day 9 of our #BackOnTrackchallenge!! Having some trouble sticking to your goals? Make sure they're SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely).
My Goal is maintain a calorie deficit of 10,000 – 15,000 during the month of August. I will measure it when I track my nutrition and fitness on I can do this by drinking a green smoothie every day and watching my portions for the rest of the day and exercise at least 5 days a week. This goal is relevant to me as a measurable way to lose 3-5 lbs which would get me to my next weight loss level. Timing is still important since this challenge ends at the end of August.

I spent all day making healthy lunches and snacks after too many trips to the drive thru last week. Oh yes, I did breakfast sandwiches too.

Today I started getting back into my green smoothies. It is the best way I know to hit my calorie, carb, fat, and protein targets without feeling hungry all day. I also scheduled my workouts this week.

Name just ONE good thing you're planning on doing for your #health‬ today.
I went to Old Home Week, the local fair but started the day with a green smoothie. I knew the day would be a write off as far as eating was concerned. Lavinia and I had a blast. She was a lot of fun this year. Last year she was very timid on the rides but this year went on ones that I liked. She still did not want to attempt the freak out but that was ok. She is completely not like me. She wanted to go on the rides but wasn’t crazy about it like I used to be. I remember going to Old Home Week as a kid and I would be there all week with my cousins because of 4-H and showing animals. My Mom and grandmother would help with the Women’s Institute displays and my grandfather would judge cattle. We would have one day that we could get a bracelet and spend the whole day start to finish on the rides as long as our parents didn’t hear about rides the rest of the week. We would go from one to the other from start to finish. Lavinia, she would do a few rides, then go inside and watch the free shows (even if she saw them the day before). She would then go back to the rides and then come in for the dog show, more rides, and watch the horse races, then more rides. I never bothered with anything but rides on my bracelet day. It was a great day but back at it tomorrow.

List 3 things you're going to do today to get you closer to your #goals.
I had a green smoothie this morning, I froze greens for more green smoothies, I packed a lunch for work. I’ve been feeling a little stressed lately. Things are happening and I am completely stressed out, but holding it together. I feel like I have absolutely no time whatsoever. Tonight I had lots to do but because of certain stressful situations was on the phone all night with a friend and talking to my sister-in-law for hours. I really should have been doing laundry at the very least. The chores are also piling up. I was going to work this morning, thinking to myself that I can’t wait for my real life to start and then I realize that this is my real life. I have put off looking for a teaching job this year, let Lavinia have this year on the Island and near her grandparents and cousins and aunts and uncles while I tie up some lose ends. The next year she will be with her father for the school year and I will go where I can find a classroom. During the last two years I transitioned from student to teacher, back and forth. For the next year, this is my life, there is no waiting for anything, this is it. This had got to work and if it doesn’t, I have to figure out what doesn’t and change it.
