The verdict is that I have some arthritis in my lower spine and "Grade 1 spondylolisthesis of L4 and L5" which means the arthritis is causing slight shifting of the vertebrae, pretty minor. The doctor pretty much said "keep doing what you're doing." I'm with her. I haven't even taken Advil for my back in over two weeks, and the degree of pain is probably 5% of what it was a year ago. This week at the gym I've already done full-on burpees, jumping jacks, push-ups, planks, side lunges, and you name it. (I'll never run, but then, I was never much of a runner.)
Now for the embarrassing (but funny) part: while I was doing all those jumping-up-and-down exercises yesterday, I came veeerrrrrry close to popping right out of my workout top. I had to stop and go put my shirt on. Okay, I guess it is officially time to get rid of those XL tops and put on my old (smaller) workout clothes! Flashing people at the gym is not really my goal.
