Day 135 - This is so Bizarre to Me!!!

Tuesday, August 13, 2013

Ever since I had my heart scare and was cleared from heart issues with the actual diagnosis of "exercise induced asthma", I was put on an inhaler. I was instructed to take a puff at least 10 minutes before heading out to do my walking.

I have found it much easier to walk my 5 miles with no tiredness and shortness of breath. In fact, I felt good...other than sore feet. emoticon

Lately, I have decided to try with jogging. I wanted to see how far I can go without stopping due to shortness of breath and chest, neck, and jaw pains. Typically in the past, I can usually go between 1/8 to 1/4 mile and be totally wiped out.

So, today I jogged...and jogged...and jogged. emoticon I literally jogged non-stop for 1.5 miles!!! emoticon

I was in so much awe with myself! I was nervous, scared, elated, panicky, in awe, amazed! totally bizarre! I kept monitoring myself with shortness of breath by talking out loud...just to see if I could - and a could! No pain whatsoever other than my legs from yesterday's 10 miles of walking with a little bit of jogging.

Can I say BIZARRE again! This NEVER happened to me before!

I grabbed my son to jog with me when I got home, I was so excited. It was a huge LOL moment since my jog is his walking pace! But I was jogging! He pushed me to go faster, which I did and then I started to get winded with minor chest pains. I stopped and I was out of breath. He told me that I just have to build up my endurance.

So excited!

So, now that I know that I can jog over a mile, my new plan is to incorporate jogging with walking! only if my legs are not burning so much!!!
