Last week before Triathlon..

This is my last week before the sprint triathlon on Sunday Aug 18th!
Last week consisted of biking one way to or from home/work and then a lunch time workout. Hill Run Monday, Bootcamp Tues/Thurs, lake swim, short run Wednesday.. Whew! I was hoping that this approach, basically adding a 35 min bike ride to my usual lunch time workout, would be a good way to increase my endurance and train my body and mind for the triathlon.
I took Friday and Saturday completely off and then did a Full sprint-triathlon workout on Sunday.. yep, that is right! I met up with two of the other gals doing the event with me, and we swam in the lake at 8:45am! and then grabbed our bikes out of the cars and biked 12.6 miles (a little over the estimated 12 miles for the race.. Why you ask? last year I felt like the 12 miles took FOREVER!, so I wanted to do a little over 12 a couple of times to get the feel down!). THEN, we ran.. last time we ran 2.6 miles.. this time.. I added on a bit more and didn't map it until afterwards.. total distance? 3.7 miles! Woooo Whooo! technically I did MORE than I will have to do during the event!
Boy does that make me feel good!
Then yesteray at work I was tired.. and didn't really WANT to bike home from work.. but I did, and then I had a great ride!
Same thing this morning.. I didn't really want to bike into work at 7:30am but I didn't have a choice as I left my car at work! But you know what, it was a nice ride.. and I get in and feel good about the ride, saving gas, getting in a workout, etc..
I just saw a quote on SP email.. that said something like, "just get moving, no matter what it is, the hardest part is just getting started moving.." And I agree.. I didn't want to, but I did and it was a nice workout/commute and I feel good.
So, I will repeat for this week.. I will skip bootcamp on Thursday and maybe swim again or go for a little run, to save my muscles (sometimes you are sore for DAYS after bootcamp).. I will take Friday and Saturday off exercise and be ready for my 7:20 AM start on Sunday morning!! EEEEK!
then I leave the next day for a work trip, with very limited workout options.. I hope the local Rec Center is opened and my work schedule allows for a daily bit of exercise! Or I'll be working out in the hotel room! Spark videos and pinterest workout ideas!
