Yesterday, I finally saw it. The number that means I've lost 20 pounds so far. And it's only taken me 2 years of fits and starts! That's okay - I'm motivated to use the momentum and what I've learned thus far to take off the next 20 a whole lot quicker.
I was, however, very bummed when I attempted to celebrate by buying a new dress online. I went to the website ModCloth, and, as they recommend on many areas of their site, I chatted with a stylist. I gave her my current measurements, and explained that I seem to be between sizes. Some size 10 bottoms fit well, some are snug. Some size 12 bottoms fit really loose, some fit well. On top, some Larges seem too large, some fit. Some Mediums fit, and some seem too snug.
She said that based on my measurements, I should order dresses that are size 1x. I asked her if the clothes there run small...she responded that they don't; they generally run big.
Armed with this depressing news, I found some cute dresses that were on sale, and ordered 3; sized based on reading the reviews/experiences of other customers who seemed like they had similar measurements to mine. One Large, one XL, and one that was 1x. Glad they have free shipping for returns.
Clothes are annoying. Why can't we all just get over ourselves and walk around naked?
I plan on giving my 2 cents on the website, and e-mailing back "Ashley" with photos.
