Understanding the Assignment.

Boy am I hard on myself. By not understanding the assignment, I get overwhelmed and go down the path of inaction. One such case was the recent meditation challenge assignment of writing a detailed "detailed seven-day self-care plan." I was thinking: Monday - 6am - morning routine, etc. Upon review, that's not what the assignment was at all. I finally found the instructions:
Begin by making a list of the loving things you can do for yourself this weekó
(okay that is easy enough)
- meditate
- exercise
- plan healthy meals
- purchase healthy foods
- think of one thing to be grateful for
- think of one thing to give myself credit for
- think of one quality I love about me.
- remember to pause and take a few deep breaths when feeling stressed,
- seek out the beauty of nature
- nurture my appearance
Set the intention to complete one of the items on your list every day

Sunday - Plan weekly menu
Monday - Aqua Aerobics
Tuesday - Shop for healthy foods that support me.
Wednesday - Peruse Farmers' Market
Thursday - Aqua Aerobics
Friday - Go for a walk
Saturday - Paint my toes

Well that was not so difficult. Sometimes I over complicate things, I should slow down and take several slow deep breaths and really take the time to understand what is before me.

Today, I give myself credit for slowing down and seeing the simplicity.

    Hello Nancy...a brilliant post! I find myself doing the same thing...isn't that little phrase "wait a minute, I missed the point" a wonderful feeling. I always think now I don't have to worry about this assignment at all. Thanks for reminding us we'll always be vulnerable and not to worry....everything's all right. emoticon
