I started this blog yesterday, but the topic is just as appropriate today as it was then...maybe more so.
You see, I did some serious weight lifting twice this weekend. But I only met my step goal once last week. AND the scale says I gained...again!
But thanks to a few well-timed inspirational quotes from people I follow on Facebook and some other sources of inspiration, I'm not sweating that elusive step goal or those salty, greasy chips that are churning in my gut right now. I'm not sweating any of that because every moment is another chance to make a better choice.
That's why at this moment, I'm pedaling. My calorie burn will assuredly be less than the Zumba class I skipped or that 4 mile walk I almost went on.
Private time on the bike was all I could handle tonight. I showed up and that's what matters.
This is what practicing perfection is. It's the continuous effort of trying. It's a lot of missteps and soul searching. It's knowing you'll never get there. But it's never quitting.
