Here we go again...
I did indeed break my right foot last Wednesday night. The doctor was actually shocked that I have been walking around for this long without pain meds. (I still didn't take any.) The break is the outer bone that travels from the heel to the little toes; instead of a straight bone, mine looks like a lower-case y.
The bad news: No running or tae kwon do for 2 months. This means I will NOT be doing the 8k that I signed up for in September, nor will I compete in the fall TKD tournament. Grumble...
The good news: No surgery needed. No cast -- just a "post-surgical shoe" which is a lightweight version of the boot I've seen my middle school students wearing.
The best news: I am cleared for CYCLING!! Whew! What a relief! I thought for a moment that I was doomed to 2 months of pilates and strength training. But cycling? Bring it on!
So this too shall pass. Thank God it's minor -- and I do thank God. A lot!
