I'll find out on Wednesday. As I blogged last Wednesday, I've been experiencing a gain each week for the past couple of weeks (2 lbs. last week) and I don't think Wednesday will be any different. I put on some pants last night that I haven't worn in a couple of weeks and they felt tight!
I'm not really "out of control", but a little concerned. My eating as been way off and worse, I've not been exercising. I also pretty much stopped participating in my 2 challenges. I missed a weigh in week for my 3% maintenance challenge, so that disqualified me for that and I've stopped logging in my "healthy living challenge" with DH's work.
I'm eating way too much junk and doing way too much snacking (not to mention portion control). My schedule was really out of whack last week and will hopefully settle down to a somewhat routine soon.
DH, DD#2 and I ran last Thursday and that's the last day I had any exercise! The girls started back to school on Thursday and DD#1 (Senior), lost her parking pass (didn't realize this until they were pulling out of the driveway Thursday morning), so I had to end up driving them to school (and leaving DD#3 to fend for herself). Friday wasn't much better since she still doesn't have the parking pass, but at least I was prepared!
DH left early Friday morning to drive to Florida. His Dad had passed away and the memorial service was on Saturday - last minute trip (long story - but DH had a "complicated" relationship with his father). We had visited him a couple of weeks ago, so DH was glad of that.
I'm used to DH working a lot of hours and being gone, but it was kind of bad timing with school just starting and it being so last minute.
Anyway, I had to pick up DD#2 from volleyball practice on Friday and take her to a pizza party for her team. DD#1 was working, so it was just DD#3 and I. I'm not sure what we ate that night, but it wasn't good!
I was going to sleep in on Saturday, but woke up pretty early. DD#1 left for work, so I woke up DD#2 & 3 and we major cleaned the house (been neglecting cleaning house for a while). I was going to cut grass later that day, but we had a big rain storm about 3 pm and it lasted most of the night (we have been getting slammed with rain this year!).
DD#3 (who is almost 13) had given me a really hard time on Saturday about how I was "neglecting" her and was always gone and I wasn't cooking and she's had to cook for herself! Of course I'm not neglecting her (but I have been really busy so I guess it seemed that way to her), but she was right about the cooking. So I made tacos (ground turkey & chicken) and had a taco salad (yay - finally made something healthy for me!).
I took DD#2 to the movies and I'm sure I snacked that night (and I didn't get any exercise). I picked up DD#2 late from the movies and when I got home, DH was back from his trip.
We slept in a little on Sunday and DH made a big breakfast. We watched a DVD someone had made of his Dad (it was very nice) and very emotional for DH - he even cried, which is unusual for him. Later that morning we discovered that one of our ducks was missing (the family favorite that DD#1 had her senior portrait taken with). We think he was probably killed by a fox/coyote or the hawk that has been flying around our pasture. The only "sign" we could find of him was a pile of feathers! We think he was probably protecting the female duck (who we've deemed was his girl friend). Anyway, we were all really sad from that (especially DD#3 who raised all 4 ducks from ducklings).
We kind of relaxed on Sunday and later in the afternoon I took DD#2 & 3 to Walmart for some more school supplies. We went to church that evening and I cut some grass (it was really wet earlier in the day from Saturday night's rain). It actually started thundering and lightening and DH and I barely got the lawn mowers back in the barn before it started to storm again!
So no exercise on Sunday, but I had Subway for dinner and I didn't snack anymore that night (after my frozen yogurt).
I'm thinking of having a couple of weeks of "low carb" to chase away the "snack monster". I also got an e-mail on Friday from my old running coach about a Couch to 5K class she's starting in September (she does one in fall & spring). I've been wanting to do another class because I'm still struggling to get back to running a 5K. I'm probably a little advanced for this class since I'm a little above the "couch" level. I can run about 1 - 2 miles straight now, but slow!
She usually has "repeaters" that just like running with a class (and with her) or want to work on speed (or like me, get back to 3.1 miles), so the class should be fine. Plus I know I'll go since I have to pay for it! Fortunately its on Tues/Thurs which looks ok right now with my schedule (although we still have things to add), but with DD#1 able to drive now, that will help out.
So I'm not pushing the "panic" button yet and I do have a plan!
RIP Mordecai (2nd from left with DD#3) - you were a great pet and friend!
