I just finished 2 weeks with no junk food !
How I did it –
I began by challenging myself to go one week without junk food as a way to get my unhealthy snacking under control.
I only allowed myself to have yogurt and/or fruit for snacks.
Every time I got the urge to snack I asked myself if I was hungry or was there another reason I wanted to eat something. Most of the time I was not hungry so I did not snack.
Each day got easier. The longer I went without junk food the less it interested me.
I lost 3.5 pounds during the challenge !
I don’t miss the junk food so I’m continuing the challenge, which I’m now calling a streak.
I’m taking it a day at a time, see how long I can do this.
We went to the grocery store yesterday, the one with the great bakery. We walked through the bakery to get to produce, normally a terrible temptation, but I looked and kept walking. I was not tempted at all !!! Even when we hit the chip aisle for chips for today, DH asked what I wanted, I said it up to him since I wasn’t having any. Again, I wasn’t tempted !!! I’m loving this !!!
B – cereal/juice/almond milk/peaches
L – salmon salad sandwich/pickles/Laughing Cow wedge/carrots
D – turkey dog/roll/cheese/Mom’s potato salad (YUM)
Dessert – peach smoothie or frozen vanilla Greek yogurt
Ex – Spark DVD + walking
Mom’s coming today for an overnight visit, bringing her potato salad. I bought ice cream and potato chips for her and DH. I won’t be having either. I also won’t be buying any candy when Mom and I go shopping today, something I always do. I do have a small container of frozen Greek yogurt that I might have for dessert instead of the smoothie. Right now I’m leaning toward the smoothie.
