maybe this time?

Monday, August 12, 2013

I have met with a nutritionist. I have eaten 1400 calories a day for a month... I have eaten 1200 a day for a month. I have gone on countless walks that end in pain. I have tried yoga, and hurt. Ive tried Zumba again and end in tears.

Then I went to the chiropractor. I had X-Rays taken to find a few things out.

1- I have severe whiplash. As you will see in the photo, my neck should be where the black line is drawn.
2- My left hip is out of alignment and rocked back.
3- I have 3-4 vertebrae out of alignment.

I am hoping that once my body is in proper alignment I will feel better, be able to exercise and finally get healthy!

One thing that helped me immensely were some private Pilates classes with an instructor/physical therapist who helped me to know how to align my body correctly. Nobody had ever told me! It turned out I was a "butt tucker", and shouldn't have been. I tended to hunch my shoulders forward. I placed the weight on my heels instead of the center of my feet. Etc. Pilates movements are very controlled and careful, and strengthen your core. My body has felt SO much better since I learned how to correct these problems.
I took a Zumba class this summer for fun, but we were supposed to do a lot of moves that didn't seem very controlled or good form to me. I asked my Pilates instructor about it and she said she frequently has to treat people for injuries from doing Zumba.

The chiro will work wonders for you! Seriously. I go once a month for maintenance. And if I don't go, I feel it. I'm so glad you have some answers!

I hope the chiropractor can help...so sorry you've had such frustration lately! Hang in there - and keep on taking care of your body by seeking help when you need it, like you've been doing - that's awesome. I'm not always very good about that, myself. So great job!!:)
