I am back from vacation. It was fun. When I got home I had the letter I had been waiting on about my Thyroid. They done an ultrasound on 7-12. they found a small complex nodule 0.76 cm in the left lobe, to small to biopsy and low risk of malignancy . I will have another ultrasound done in 6 to 12 months. I guess she will let me know when I go back in November. Tomorrow I have to go to retina specialist . oh joy. Dye shot in my veins and of course eyes dilated, that wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't just had that done 7-17, but at least I know I have great doctors. that if something is wrong they try to take care of it quickly. Glad to be back home ,after tomorrow, I have a full week of work. I have been kind of sad today it would of been my brother;s59th birthday. It is very hard to believe that in Oct. he has been dead 9yrs and my mother will be dead 3yrs the 22th of this month. Time marches on and on. I will always hold their memories close to my heart. You never forget, you just try to always remember the happy times. For now they are safe in the arms of God. Have a great week my friends.

Sympathy for your brother and mom; I know its still hard years later. I miss my grandmother and she died when I was 12 and I am in my early 40's now. Thanks for the comments on my blog. I'm not the most agreeable person when it comes to things I don't like. I'm like my dad in that way. I send back cold food in restaurants. I usually get what I want most of the time. I'm not very opinionated about certain things when it comes to decorating because I'm used to living in a simple manner and don't really enjoy painting, decorating and things of that nature, it bores me pretty much. I prefer my books, reading, writing, sports especially football and baseball.
I want the SO to feel comfortable in the house so its a little give and take and we like similar darker colours so its really fine his suggestions so far. I like most of his decorating ideas. I let the SO and my dad design and landscape my small backyard area because I have no clue or inclination to deal with it. As long as I don't see sunflowers or pink flamingos I am good. The cat will like it because he wants to catch birds and things to play with~ emoticon emoticon emoticon

Anniversaries and birthdays once someone has passed are tough, but I try to focus on the life they lived. Easier said than done I know.

Good luck with your additional tests. I am no fan of anything done with my eyes. I'm a definite flincher. Unfortunately, a few years ago they discovered "freckles" at the back of my eyes that have to be monitored for changes (e.g., cancer); so now I have to go twice a year - once for the regular eye check for retinopathy and then the freckle check. The latter is coming up this month. I'll be glad when it is over.

I also have nodules. They were biopsied years ago and now once a year I get an ultrasound. My doc told me I have one of the ugliest thyroids she has ever seen, which made me laugh.

    Hi, 1935 Mary,

Listen to 1CrazyDog, she knows her stuff. I was also diagnosed with a whole bunch of little nodules on my thyroid. No real problems. Sometimes we just need to be cautious. Good luck, sweetie.

Renie

OH my. First of all, my condolences on those two painful anniversaries! My brother would have been 58 in February and he's been gone 31 yrs. It is difficult when we lose those we love like your beloved brother and Mom. HUGS

Secondly, wishing you all the luck with your retinal specialist tomorrow. . . and that they provide answers and help.

AS for the thyroid nodule, well . . . I've had 4 nodules since 1998 when I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis. No change in all that time, so it's good you'll go back for a re-check. I have to have my yearly ultrasound too. But keep the faith, sweetie.

HUGS and prayers.
