To Eating Better

Sunday, August 11, 2013

Good Sunday Sparkfam! Its a beautiful day here in Chicago 80s today & we just got a nice misting. I know in the south you can fry an egg but cooler temps are on the way believe that. So I'm trying to add some healthier foods & snacks since I've been a picky eater since I can remember. So hubs likes the wonderful salad creations so I tried my first almonds on purpose. They also had cranraisins in it too. Its like eating slithers of cardboard with canraisins. So broccoli check almonds check but NO to asparagus & cauliflour but I'm still young & if I can conquer a handfuls of almonds I have got to get ready for me some asparagus. Yuk!

In other news, my son's arm requires minor surgery to place a pin in his elbow. The surgery is set for Tuesday & I welcome your prayers & warm thoughts. He wants to still start his junior year of college. So of course I'm the bad guy cause I want him to heal properly. Thank goodness for insurance but I'm still out of pocket $1000 which they want day of surgery......ugh! Will call them tomorrow to see if they can cut that in half I pray so or son will sit this semester out or live in his car.....lbvs

Trying to get in 30minutes of cardio tonight need to do my hair and get my back rubbed too. Good night Angels, sweet dreams & thank you all for listening to me blather on & on......

God bless & embrace everyday!

    emoticon Hello Dee!
I hope everything went well on the surgery. Rapid Healing in Jesus' Name. God's Power don't cost a thang! In this world's system they want money NOW and don't care if you have it or not. That's one reason I do not like to go t a doctor. But I'm not even gong there. Your new adventure with food sounds exciting. I tried Asparagus for the first time a few years ago and decided I like it. It took trial and error to get it just right. Almond butter is what I prefer instead of the almonds themselves. Especially the raw ones. I eat cashews, peanuts, walnuts and sunflower kernels more often then almonds. You'll find something that makes your taste buds happy and body healthier. I'm praying for you all. Thank you for Sparking by! Just love my baby girl even though she's 26. Hard to let them both grow up. My son is 23 and we live together and WOW lol. Mama don't wanna let go. Plus he looks like he's still in HS. Where did those genes come from?
Love you sis and God's Many Blessings Upon You and Yours!

I need a back rub too! What the heck, I could do with another hair dye. So, we just got back from AZ, and it feels cold to us. Funny no? I hope you have great week!

I LOVE asparagus!! Cauliflower, not so much, but I can tolerate it mashed or as a "rice" or "grits"

I'll definitely be praying for you & your son. Hope you have a great back rub and a restful night's sleep!

I will pray for your son's surgery--& that the costs are contained so that you aren't out too much $$!

And I'm proud of you for trying new, healthy foods. I still hope you can come over so I can cook for you one of these days. This week I'm going to make a curry that includes cauliflower as a major ingredient--& I think even you, Ms. Picky, would like it! One of my favorite recipes ever.
