So on Saturday, my co-worker's husband comes through the doors at 9:30 am with two sodas. And immediately the warning bells go off in my head of what do I do if he gave one of those to me. Do I decline, do I take the drink to be polite, do I say thank you and drink up? I haven't had any of those garbage drinks in about a year. My beverage of choice is water. He walks up and hands me the soda. I say thank you and put it aside.
Some important background info is that he comes through EVERY day and gives his wife a soda. I've been trying to have conversations with all of my co-workers about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and I truly try to practice what I speak.
For now it's in my fridge. I may just dump it out so I'm not tempted. Through a wellness program at work the last session was about sugar addictions. Very eye opening, I wish I could share the program, but try researching it. I was most intrigued by the vicious cycle, you drink or eat something sugary, you get a temporary high, then you crash, you get tired and you crave it more and the whole thing starts all over again.
I'm really hoping this doesn't become a habit and he starts bringing one everyday too! I know this blog sounds silly, but it's been on my mind.
