Fitbit, Diet, Weather!

Sunday, August 11, 2013

I have to admit this has been a good week. I have gotten my way without any guff at two budget meetings for our community. I am always expecting some big disagreement, and, thankfully, it hasnít come yet. Itís nice getting your way. I have one more meeting in September where I have to address the residents and the rest of the Board and hope that goes as easy as these have. At any rate, I can relax until then.

I bought a Fitbit and it came yesterday. Iím not the swiftest techinal nut on the tree so am slowly learning how it works and what it can do. If nothing else, it will keep me entertained. I keep saying I live in the mountains and this afternoon I went for a walk. The Fitbit has recorded 13 flights of stairs! I think two were actual stairs in my house. Lol My driveway is 200 feet with a 25 to 30% angle up! The rest of my neighborhood is the same terrain. The e-mail from Fitbit congratulating me says one floor is 100 feet.

I gave up eating a low carb diet because I just continued to gain weight and have gone back to the only thing that works for me which is the low fat vegetarian/vegan. I have proof in the way of my blood tests that when I eat low-carb, my cholesterol number drop into very good levels and when I eat vegan, they go up. I will just have to tell the doctor that it is either higher cholesterol numbers or higher weight.

Other than that, not much new here. It is hot, humid, ďsnakeyĒ, and rainy here.

The Fitbit syncs beautifully with SparkPeople! I'm loving it.

I've thought about a Fitbit for a while now but just haven't taken the plunge. Keep us posted on how it's working for you. Did you sync it to SP yet?

Have you tried going by SparkPeople's guidelines for calories, carbs, fat, and protein? Those work very nicely for me.

My terrain is like yours. I was wondering how it would record my efforts. I'm thinking I want one.

Sounds like you need a hybrid diet. Not vegan nor low carb.
